As the battles raged on, both sides were getting more and more worn down.
There were some close calls with the jewel just within reach, but as usual, it somehow managed to elude every time. Its disappearing acts were getting more frequent than its previously established pattern, and some suspect it is close to vanishing at any given moment. With each disappearance, one wonders if that was its last, just like how it was gone for good in the past. Many seekers have given up on it, but some still persist.
The conflicts themselves have become too ambiguous for the blame to be pinned on one side, both Skies and Seas having committed acts neither could be proud of. Seeing the exhaustion and devastation on both sides, they say a truce is in the talks within the skies’ Royal Council.
After much deliberation, the princess comes forward with a speech broadcast to the world that one couldn’t possibly miss. She makes a formal apology for the mistreatment of the Red Seas citizens in the past and present, and hopes that a future together may be something the two sides can work towards. She beseeches the fighting to halt and, if permitted, that a peace treaty be signed by the skies’ Royal Council and the Queen of the Red Seas.
The choice now becomes: to forgive or to fight?
The Situation:
The Princess has offered that the Royal Council and herself, personally visit the Queen’s palace in the Red Seas to discuss the peace treaty. She is recruiting individuals that can be trusted to act as guards, as well as envoys to assist in discussion, and guides to accompany them on their journey to the Red Seas.
In reality, this decision is not unanimous. Among the council, there are those who oppose and disapprove of the Princess for acting on her own. There are attempts to thwart this plan of hers, not only from those of the Red Seas but even those from the skies, particularly from within the Royal Capital.
The Queen has not given an official response to the truce or the peace treaty but has mentioned considering the diplomatic visit since it would be the first time in history. Rumours say she is still seething, and any intentions to forgive are unlikely. It is possible she is plotting something, as she continues to invite Red citizens to her throne room for unknown reasons.
Some say she is gathering forces for a plan that welcomes the Royal Council into her home, only to orchestrate a decisive assassination.
Others say she is gathering the opinions of the people, hearing out their personal testimonies to help her form a decision that would reflect the hearts of her citizens.
Either way, the fighting has died down and a ceasefire is progressively coming into effect as both sides await the decisions of the royals.
